World Tour, continued….

My world tour, not quite as glamourous as fellew American’s, John Travolta, continued on the same day his 707 was in Sydney(July 12th), albeit mine a little earlier aboard VirginBlue’s 737-700 en route to Melbourne. This being my first time aboard VirginBlue, was rather pleased with the basic cabin service, nothing spectacular. Airfare was rather cheap, and the flight only 1 hour 20 minutes long. Any snacks/drinks served onboard, had a nominal fee. Cabin crew were very friendly. The return flight MEL-SYD on July 15th was aboard a 737-800. This was very pleasing to me as I had never been on the -800. Both examples were minus the winglets. Again, decent service, nothing spectacular, but then, what else should you expect from a low fare airline? I’m sure John’s 707, also with a large ‘V’ on the tail, had slightly better service on board.

P.S. I was very distrubed to discover that the model airplane sold on board, was a 737-700 in a 1/130 scale. This is slightly too large for my liking, as I mentioned earlier in the post having to do with models, I prefer the 1/200 mold. Oh well.
