This afternoon 25km north of Sydney i was able to successfully “intercept” the truck bound HARS Pig.
I took a few photos and interesting to note a wheel hub cap is marked “FB-111”.
Will post photos later this week.
I have photod A8-109 at the RAAF Pig 2010 retirement event see my photos here … http://heritageflightgeardisplays.wordpress.com/2010/12/06/end-of-a-era-the-raaf-retires-the-f-111/

On December 3rd. 2010 the R.A.A.F. held a farewell ceremony for their retiring F111s at R.A.A.F. Amberley Qld. A flight of seven aircraft overflew the base and (I think) Brisbane. At the end of the display they landed back at Amberley and A8-109 was the last to touchdown. So by minutes it can claim to be the last operational F111.

Surely it would have been the last one NOT in a museum, which by all accounts, this was.:dev2:
I think this was how it was reported in the media . In fact it was the worlds last FLYING F-111. ( ie , it was the last one to land – ever )

A very poor thread title.
There are F-111’s sprinkled all over Australia in various museums.
Which one is the last…???

Large boxes have already arrived at Illawarra Regional Airport. The aircaft will be re-assembled this week after the last few days working to prepare her display location.
G’day 😉
