RE: Worst Ever Charter Flight
Well, it´s really unfair telling Air Europa is the worst airline, specially after flying just once. I fly very often since it´s the dominant charter in my local airport and also has schedule flights. I want to assure you that is safe, frecuently on time (it suffers delays but due to traffic control like many others) and with a regular inflight service which is good in regular flights. On the other hand is the only airline, for instance whose cabin crew are strickly concious and beligerant with the excess of hand luggage which is on of the most dangerous things in case of a crash. It has been awarded by Boeing for the excellent maintenance. The interiors are well manteined and the look of crew is excelent. It´s a good charter airline.

No, personally I would say Airtours International are the worst and Monarch Airlines the best.

RE: Worst Ever Charter Flight
Don’t ever make the mistake of flying long haul with Monarch. 15 hours to Sri Lanka, with a stop in Bahrain squashed into an A300 with 30″ pitch and 3-3-3 configuration. It was hell. To top it off the video was not working, but were still expected to pay for headsets for the audio. There were absolutley no free drinks – not even glasses of water were offered. Surely on such a long flight there are real risks associated with de-hydration. Plus one of the ceiling panels fell off on take off – very comforting!
The worst charter aircraft for space is the 767 which Britannia and Airtours have a 28″ pitch and 2-4-2 config. Once you are in, you cannot move – and as for trying to eat your meal…
Having said this, the flights are dirt cheap, and the in-flight service is often as good as scheduled carriers. Where else do you get IFE on a 90 minute flight other than on a British charter flight! Just a bit more space wouldn’t go amiss.
Of them all, if you have a choice, fly Britannia – the crew seem to be the friendliest, the aircraft the brightest and the food the best I have experienced on charter.
