Anyone ever gone onto the Internet Movie Database and voiced their opinions on what’s hot and what’s not?
I HAVE – and it’s a whole lot of fun!
So, I’m just curious, what’s the worst movie you’ve ever seen, and why??
My most recent “sh!t flick” was “Camp” – a gratuitously boring, wrongly-marketed piece of stepped-on dog turd that was billed as a comedy about kids at a drama camp in the USA – what was so funny was that people were walking out about half-way through it!
LAME RATING – 10!!!!

I agree. As a movie, Braveheart is a good film to watch. From a historical perspective…it leaves a lot to be desired.

Good call . As a Scotsman – Braveheart is good as a fictional film – fact it ain’t , if you look at the timescale and the characters in the film some of them would have to have been about 150yrs old to meet each other , ie have a serious look at the ages of Robert the Bruce and William Wallace .
Braveheart is a fictional story based on a factual figure from Scots history , made in Ireland with an Aussie as the lead character , with an English production company and US financial backing !!!!.
That’s right. If you have the DVD , the director speaks about the Stirling bridge event. They chose to shoot the scene in a field for technical reasons.

Being There. Peter Sellers.
Got it free when we bought a VCR a few years ago. Gave up after 15 minutes and wiped it. Apparently the critics loved it which must say something about critics. Not sure what.

Lol, ecks vs. sever was incredibly horrendous.
Oh, and BTW, don’t go see Underworld. It’s a horrible movie, Blade/Matrix wannabe.

I didn’t watch the Patriot

As a film Braveheart is well made I grant you that. It is not a bad film per se (scuse my French, you have better English) but it just annoys me. Mel Gibson was on a chat show here in Britain claiming to be a celt. Well fine but I can just imagine him calling me a Saxon (not saying this is a bad thing, I just see myself as more Celtic) because I was born in England. It seems to be how he views all people who live and work in England. Its called a double standard and there is no way you could put him straight because he simply would not listen.
I agree, it is not a bad film, but I can’t watch it, or the Patriot, because Mel Gibson has got it all wrong. His portrayal of the British during the Independance War was way out of line and totally inacurate. He is an inteligent man and I like him, all he has to do is read up on what really happened. The fact that he doesn’t suggests that he has his preconceptions about my country and will not brook any argument. You should see how the French were portrayed in Patriot. In reality France was instrumental in the American victory yet he reckons they didn’t turn up until the fighting was done and dusted. I lost a bit of respect for the bloke after those films.

It wasn’t spin he used though it was sh1t and I ain’t swallowing any of that. Go back to what you do best Mel and get off the political trip you have far too many issues, 700 year old issues at that.Worst films every Highlander film after the first one. ‘There can be only one’ and in my world there is only one Highlander film the rest are big sweaty knickers.
I liked “Brave heart” even if the historical accuracy was so so …
About “Highlander” …… the first one was OK because of Sean Connery, the following was pathetic.

How can you knock Braveheart? That is probably the most accurate historical film made in the last 15 years. Very accurately depicting William Wallace vs Edward II and the austere living circumstances of the 1400s.

When on holiday in LA in 1998 we decided to go to the Chinese Theater to see a new film called “In God’s Hands” which was about surfers. That’s all I can really say about it because it was so indescribably awful, I’m not surprised it sank without trace!!

I brought the ‘HULK’ the day it appeared in the cinema’s (Does anyone still go to those ?) downtown…..on DVD. Watched it and want to rename it ‘SULK’.
Gimme the original comics any day !!!. Its a poor day in Hollywood…or wherever…when the computer generated hero is still KRAPPE (Olde englishe spellinge !).
If you havent seen it yet….dont bother.

‘Mr Smith’, a short (but not short enough) that I had to sit through more than once while waiting for the main feature. Had Peter Barkworth in it. Talk about losing the will to live….:(

What? Memento is a clever movie. How dare you bash it. 😉

I saw a dreadful film today. “Momentum” (2000). What a dreadfully confusing storyline that had! The story was told backwards and it was all too much to take in.

“Pretty Woman”, the Julia Roberts/Richard Gere vehicle, ‘cos hey, it’s ok to be a prostitute because someday the american gigolo will come along & take you off into the sunset – oh please.
Anything starring Adam Sandler – he actually gets paid for those films you know.
Any “saddle my horse, I ride for York forthwith” type costume drama cobblers

I didn’t like it for its historical errors, since it was trying to be a historical epic, and that is a big mark against it. Sure the scenery was nice, but William Wallace’s falling in love with Sophie Marceau was too trite. Rather unbelievable.

There are so many…I can’t just name one! Some were already mentioned here.
The last three Highlander movies.
Jeepers Creepers…
I will most likely be adding to this list. Like I said I can’t name just one. There are too many!
