I read that Foster Wickner Wicko G-AFJB is back to full health again, has flown after it’s restoration and appeared at Popham last weekend.
That’s great news but I am suprised no one has posted pictures on this forum. There is, I think a single pic on the G.A. forum but it is an historic type and, I think, the only survivor.

you mean that some people only look in 1 forum ?
I look at all forums (except mod Mil) just some more often than others 😉

MOTF,
you mean that some people only look in 1 forum ? 🙂 – my next batch of pics will probably qualify for historic as they will be from a museum (but some could fall into military and commercial) – I just have to go and take them 😉
The Wicko looked stunning – a lot of time / effort (and money) must have been spent to get such an impressive result. Quite surprised to see how quick it was in the circuit compared to the cessna / pipers of a similar size.
It also seems a little pointless and a waste of bandwidth having the same pictures in 2 different locations on the same website. I seem to remember it was this sort of thing (with airshow pics) that prompted the new airshow/photograhpy sub-forums (v.good they are too)

For historic aircraft, i’d say either a jet thats been in service for a long time, or recently phased out (i.e. B52, Jaguar e.t.c.) or a civilian aircraft that hasn’t been in service for a while (such as the HS Trident)

An aeroplane does not have to be camouflaged and carry roundels to be historic. Even if that were the case, the Wicko still qualifies – take a look at www.wicko.com

paul
I guess you have to post wherever you feel comfortable. I’ll pay more attention to the GA forum from now on 🙂

…errr… *scratches head*
Flypast tries to cover all aspects of historic aviation – dunno where the warbird / museums idea comes from. There’s a bias, but that’s more to do with boy toy envy and newstand sales.
If it’s an aircraft that costs more than it can earn in it’s primary role, that’s one definition of historic!
Another definition might be “old aircraft”…
Let’s just say that there’s now a 1/2 doz posts above asking for the pics – no one’s going to complain if they appear here. Sure, you are welcome to pop them in the GA forum, but they’ll get as much, perhaps more, interest here.
Very nice pics btw.
Cheers

Have always assumed that the historic forum was aimed at the sort of stuff you would find in Flypast (ie warbirds / museums etc) rather than GA, even if it is of ‘historic’ interest. The pics were taken at a GA fly-in so (imho) belong in the GA section.
Also is there a definition of what qualifies as a historic aircraft?

Nice pics of an interesting a/c.
Why not add a few other pics here please Paul?
Thanks.

As if by magic…
Paul C’s (very nice) pics pulled from Gen Av to over over here by the wizz of the internet for the forum-selection-challanged.
Now let’s be nice and play nicely.

Come on, hardly a whinge!
By: RPSmith - 22nd September 2005 at 13:11
The answer is to take some photos and post them rather than whinge that others havent done so.
Ouch!

It is not a Spitfire, that’s why it’s not covered here 😉 😀

Roger,
I posted some in the GA forum as part of a series of shots from the event that day.
