In the course of a mammoth cross country journey last weekend, I paid a visit to the aerodrome at Pont sur Yonne in north eastern France and came across this delightful autogyro. To me it was a little unusual – in that one doesn’t see many tractor or cabin autogyros these days. However it was sans blades and sans identification. Can anyone out there tell me what this little beauty is?

Good thinking, Frank! Acting upon your suggestion I contacted Alain Gouin of Air Libre Passion at Pont sur Yonne and he told me that it is a prototype based upon the fuselage of an Aviasud Mistral microlight. Apparently he has a second prototype which one of his pupils is going to acquire. I will try to find out more about his future intentions for this highly attractive two seat side by side autogyro.

You’ve got a phone number on the hangar, give them a call 🙂

I’ll be totally honest, I haven’t a clue. Looking at the close coupled undercarriage though I think the ground handling, without being rude, could best be described as interesting.
