There’s a VFR lane that runs along the coast at 3000ft I think, where the Japan Airlines 747 shot was taken from. Not sure where this was one taken, but most definitely another aircraft I believe!

It was either taken from another plane or by Super Man. If it was from a building I wouldnt like to be in it when theres a strong cross wind blowing.

Must have been another aircraft. The photo is looking DOWN on the 747. The jumbo itself may be landing, but still flying high enough to avoid hitting building and advertising signs. Must be quite high then. No tall highrise would be allowed near the runway allowing such views. As such, it must be from a plane.
LAX seems to be very common for shots from planes. Small planes can fly directly over the final approach at high altitudes. You get a lot of those shots, though most of the time from planes taking of instead of landing.
Still, requires a lot of zoom, a very steady hand (shooting from a plane is not easy!) and a fair amount of luck as well.
