All this Fossett searching drove me wreckhunting, where i could actually see something.
Although i did not spot this myself, but found a link somewhere, i still wonder what kind of plane it is.
Lenght: about 50 feet.
Wingspan= about 66 feet.
Both acording to G-earth rule tool.
anyone have any guesses?

Try spadeadam ranges in northumberland, UK – the mock airfield is about five miles north of the main site and has T33’s and Mysteres on it. No bomb craters though……

Spitfies in Syria?
Leslie Hunt’s classic 1973 classic ‘Wrecks and Relics’ listed Spit 22’s as decoys at a military airfield near Damascus Syria.
Anybody know the location to Google?

Yup, the Avon Park range is near Sebring and they still race cars over at the old Airfield. The range is OFF LIMITS as they still use it for live fire exercise. They used to use the beaches off of St Petersburg here. I have found some bits of shrapnel at the park(Ft Desoto) south of town.
My old boss trained in P-40s straffing the beach targets off shore. There were something like 255 bases in Florida alone during the War.

Lockeed Loadstar, found it on a fishing sight for Guadalupe Island. Looks like engines were stripped long ago.
Surprised Tighar haven’t used that pic in their latest press release… 😉

avon park bomb range
Guess Avon Park is not far from the old Sebring airfields of WW2 that were later used for auto racing (and still are?)…
I ck’d out google earth and found the range. it is marked, a bit NE of Avon Park AFB. Looks like a variety of old jets… A4? F100?
near n27 42 18 W81 17 42
just spotted what looks like an old grumman tracker at
81°14’11.07″W 27°34’22.37″N
just north of it up the “runway” is what’s left of an F4 with a few craters, up from that, lots of craters around another F4… And there is a T33/F80, but I won’t say where that is… Wow, just look around this google earth site area… interesting stuff… some mock up migs…
and some sites that look like they may have been mock up SAM sites..
This is very interesting…
Found what looks like another mockup runway that goes by a live homestead and it had a HUGE crater in it… but carater looks old, I HOPE! haha!!!! if not, it would have blown their windows out probably.
I just emailed my dad (in St Pete) who flew as B17 instructor pilot in Sebring after his tour in Europe, if he ever used Avon Park range… I should hear soon…
I would be interested in someone elses guess on those aircraft targets on the old range…

If you want to have fun trying to “guess the AC” do a google sat view of the bombing range at Avon Park Bombing range in the south central peninsula of Florida. They have a dummy airfield set up with a number of target AC parked there. Go due south of Orlando 50 miles or so.

Didn’t find a pic of it other than the one you have posted, just this description on a fishing site. The profile matches/sans engines.
On approach from the southwest end, you can see the old plane wreck before the threshold on the right, a Lockheed Loadstar. The military said it’s been there 20 years.”

Good work. I was Googleing a bit to find a picture, but only came up with alot of sharks and seals.
Can you give me a link to the pic?
I sort of collect wreck pictures (a bit sad i know;) )
