Just sorting through my Old Warden pictures again and these are a launch of the EE Wren taken I think in 1993.
Can’t see it being very cost effective for a future in light aviation.
Ground crew even includes a flag bearer.
All the best

Wren Launch..
Hi flood
no believe it or not it’s a large piece of bungee elastic.
There are about four people at each end pulling outwards–forwards and the Wren is at the apex. Just like a childs catapult. I think the Wren has a JAP engine and it doesn’t have enough power to overcome the initial friction of getting the airframe moving.
When everyone’s inposition the flagman drops the flag and off it goes.
All the best

Would this be using a glider launch winch, by any chance?
Flood.

Wren Launch
And it’s off.
Leaving prone bodies in it’s wake!
