Science Museum, Wroughton
I spent a very enjoyable couple of hours at Wroughton over Easter. If you haven’t been recently I recommend it. The aircraft and other exhibits are very well presented……and its free! 🙂
No problem with using a tripod either.

Hi bisfit,
It’s the store of the Science Museum. So it’s not a Museum, it’s a Museum’s store. Occasional open days. Just think, that’s what Duxford COULD be like.
See: www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/wroughton/ for the details.
There is a propsal to turn it into a kind of science theme park – incidentally destroying the useable airfield, which has hosted some great flying in the past. See the PDF behind: http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/wroughton/creativeplanet.asp
For all the complaints around Duxford being ‘spoilt’, this is a very real idea of how Duxford could really have been destoyed.
Thoughts…
