Itinerary

——————————————————————————–

Total Passengers: 1

Outbound: Tue 11 May 2004 Flight No.: BE730
Depart from: Leeds Bradford (LBA) Departure time: 08:45
Arriving: Belfast City (BHD) Arrival time: 09:35

Return: Tue 11 May 2004 Flight No.: BE741
Return from: Belfast City (BHD) Departure time: 16:40
Arriving: Leeds Bradford (LBA) Arrival time: 17:35

Total fare: £37.00 (fare £0.00 + tax and charges £37.00) Charges?

———————————————————————————-

Thats when you choose the fare and proceed to the next fare what happens – £37.00 worth of tax! Whereas if i flew same day with Jet2…. (to BFS not BHD admittidly)

———————————————————————————-

Flights – LEEDS BRADFORD to BELFAST INTL Flight Date From To Departs Arrives
LS291 11 May 2004 LEEDS BRADFORD BELFAST INTL 07:15 08:10
LS294 11 May 2004 BELFAST INTL LEEDS BRADFORD 19:55 20:50

Total costs for the selected flights Pricing Fare rules
Outbound flight per adult/child
Fare £1.00
Taxes & Airport charges £6.30
Total £7.30

Insurance Levy per person £1.70

Return flight per adult/child
Fare £1.00
Taxes & Airport charges £10.00
Total £11.00

Insurance Levy per person £1.70

Total per adult/child £21.70
Total for 1 person £21.70

———————————————————————————–

So if i pay a fare with Jet2 of £1 as opposed to a ‘free’ flight by the time i have booked the ticket it will have cost me £21.70 as opposed to £37.00 with Flybe.

Yes, so what. £37 is still a bargain to me :p

Besides, Jet2 don’t fly to Edinburgh

That is assuming the fecking Police Service of Northern Ireland Lisburn Division Crinimal Justice Unit get their fingers out and send me a fooking reply if I am going to get fooking points!

Otherwise Walter will drive us 🙂 Also need pics of the SIm which will be done then

Thanks for the welcome. I’ve been a regular reader for some time, but decided the time was right now to start contributing. Glad the comments are of some interest.

BTW, don’t miss out on the opportunity to visit BHD and BFS if you can. And don’t forget that the Ulster Aviation Society have a museum at the old wartime Langford Lodge airfiled not far from BFS – prototype Shorts SD330 and Tucano, as well as Jet Provost, Buccaneer etc. Well worth a visit (by prior arrangement).

With Loganair having pulled out of the initial plans to take over BA CitiExpress’ GLA/EDI to BHD flights, FlyBe have now increased their frequencies on both routes to fill the gap.

The company I work for would typically have between 10 and 20 commuters travelling each way between BHD/BFS and GLA every week day, and the removal of the BACX flights was going to be a huge headache. The fact that FlyBe have now included flights at times which make a normal ‘day away’ on business possible, is a great relief. Their first offerings on the BHD-GLA route were out of BHD before 07.00 and not returning again until around 20.00 – far too long for regular travellers. Good to see that they have the capability to adapt to the new opportunities opening up to them.

Interesting to note as well in a recent Belfast Telegraph article that they are also considering opening up a scheduled BHD-PMI flight each weeknight, using one of the BHD based 146s. This would leave BHD before the night time closure of the airport, returning from Palma by breakfast time to allow it to recommence scheduled intra-UK flights. Wonder how much those flights might come in at?

I’ve just booked for two relatives staying with us in July, and who want to spend some time in Edinburgh. Total cost from BHD-EDI including taxes was £97-odd return.

No wonder FlyBe call themselves Northern Ireland’s original low cost carrier.

`chauffeur`

Sure I can bash a PDF together no problems.
I was gonna suggest that tonight anyway. Get the logos of the sponsors in it and detailed info about what going on etc.

I’ll make it look professional 🙂
