Hope the Mods don’t mind me posting this, if so feel free to delete, but have some WW2 dated books for sale so was wondering if anyone here wanted them first before I put them up on ebay
Have six large booklets (size around 25 x 15 cm) dating from WW2, all in excellent condition (that is, no tears, writing on them, pages still stapled together etc unless mentioned, bearing in mind they are all over 60 years old!). Bit reluctant to let them go, but need the money. As well as having great photos and information they’d look great on your display too
P&P £1 each item too, cheque or paypal ok, PM me if you have any more information or would like to purchase.
RAF Parade – information on the RAF, aircraft, Observer Corps, enemy aircraft, aircraft production etc. 63 pages with over 100 illustrations. No date of publication but i’d put it as 1941-1942 as no mention of Halifax and Lancaster bombers
By Air to Battle – ‘The official account of the British airborne divisions’. This one was actually produced in 1945, presumably post-war or very shortly before the end of the war. No illustrations but plenty of information on the actions of the British airborne during WW2 including the Rhine. 144 pages, only thing wrong with this one is the cover has come off the staples but all the other pages are stapled together – £10
Warships and Aircraft of Japan – Nice booklet with photos of Japanese of most (all?) of Japanese ships and aircraft then thought to be in service, no date but presumably 1942 – £5
Bomber Command continues – ‘The Air Ministry account of the rising offensive against Germany July 1941 – June 1942’. Exactly as it says on the tin (well, inside page). Few photos but not many, presumably published late 1942. Map of Germany on the back inside page has red and blue crosses added on by someone, presumably added when they heard those cities had been bombed. 56 pages – £5
Combined Operations 1940-1942 – Plenty of information, photos and aerial maps of Combined Operations in the early part of the war, including Dieppe, very very nice book, 144 pages – £10
American Air Power ‘the march of time series’ – lots of information and photos of American aircraft including early B17’s, XB15 ‘Super Fortress’, B25 Mitchell as well as many other 1930s in service and experimental aircraft. 46 pages – £5
I also still have my ‘Aviation in Northamptonshire’ book available, cheapest i’ve seen it elsewhere on the net is £25, up for grabs for £20, but it’s big and heavy so p & p will be £5
