WW2 bomb found in Portsmouth harbour

From the BBC;

I wonder what the “British-made Armstrong Whitworth device” was that they also found? 😮

They’re always finding stuff. Used to see aircraft parts that the fishing boats had bought in piled up in the Camber all the time. As a kid used to spend time on the mud *beach* on Whale Island & collected hundreds of bullets.
Another odd thing (that seemed perfectly natural) was all the kids at school using backpacks from Ben Grubbs Surplus Store. The tan Desert version. For days when you didn’t have much to take to school we used gasmask bags instead. So in the ’70’s you’d see kids lined up at school who all appeared to have a gasmask or about to march off & fight Rommel…
