WW2 factory or inspection stamp ID Spitfire??

Does anyone know if a SM16 in a round stamp signifies Supermarine aircraft part from WW2? Also, what about AFL again stamped on a ww2 aircraft part??

Vickers at South Marston possibly. Data plates are SMAF.

20 series Spitfires an 40 series Seafires.

I’m not aware of that Peter. The Supermarine stamp was S6.
