WW2 Fighter Joystick – What is it?

What is this?
I forgot I had it. It’s from Trenton Air Base, Ontario, Canada. Granddad was Wing Commander there during WW2. It was a major training base for the RCAF, and he was in charge of Maintenance (H.C. Shaw, Member Order of the British Empire).

It’s in perfect condition. The brass has a bit of age patina. I doubt it was ever used. He probably just took it out of inventory at the end of the war as a souvenir. I was thinking of putting it on eBay and have no idea what it is or what it’s worth.

Hi shawlein, and welcome to the forum.

There has been lots of threads about spade grips, often mentioning Canadian ones. Try a search for more info.

Your grip appears to be an AH2242 pattern. These were usually intended for Harvard training aircraft.
