Hi
Today I was given a bunch of WW2 approach charts, strip charts and references. Guadalcanal, Bougainville, New England and the like. Amongst them was what seems to be a mission hand out with some notes written in red chinagraph pencil.
I was wondering if anyone tell me where this is? Guppy Island gets no result in Google maps, the same with Sui River. Just to the left of the triangle and partially obscured with a red arrow is “Possible “”””” Hide” printed.

That’s the one! Thanks for that cdmurray.
Searching Choiseul Island brought up a heap of info. I must have been before the Japanese built their base just East of the river mouth and had also occupied Guppy Island.
I have some other interesting docs that came with this haul. A short handout page titled “Medical Gen on Life in a Dinghy” It outlines what a downed pilot should do when he finds himself adrift in his life raft.
Another item, a handout again, it outlines partial and total restrictions on bombing and strafing of Bougainville Island. Dated 22/12/1944
Cheers.

Choiseul bay, Solomon islands, to the west of ‘Guppy Island’ are Taro and Sipozare islands with the modern Choiseul Bay Airport being on Taro island.
