WWII: Battle over Europe

I finally managed to get a hold of this yesterday (it’s been delayed for months!!) and, while not expecting anything the likes of Heroes of the Pacific (brilliant, engaging game, if anyone else has played it), I was pleasantly surprised at it. Graphics and sound aren’t top quality, but then as it’s a budget title I wasn’t expecting anything like Combat Flight Simulator in either aspect. Dogfights are pretty good, too. Score enough hits on a Messerschmitt or Spitfire and it will eventually burst into flames (which looks pretty realistic in a fly-by, too), before plummeting out of the sky and into the ground. Easy to play, user-friendly and quite fun while flying as either an RAF or Luftwaffe pilot.

AND, thus far it’s the only game I’ve ever played where you get to fly a Beaufighter taking out old Jerry’s shipping! 😮
