Can anyone educate me as to the different type of MKV III Regulators there were
As far as I know there were MK V IIIA’s B’s C’s and D’s. What were the differences between each type. Were some used on heavy aircraft only such as bombers and others on fighters ?
Every time I see one for sale its listed as Spitfire etc although I’ve seen different types with the ‘Spitfire label’
Any help out there?

FlyingBlind,
Yes it would seem that your “repro” regulator is probably a type A, that has been faked up with a new label.

It seems the type B and D did not have quantity gauges.

Mk.VIII Ref 6A/102, Mk.VIIIA 6A/124, Mk.VIIIB 6A/476, Mk.VIIIC 6A/513, Mk.VIIID 6A/525
But the one shown above, like yours, appears to be a replica and perhaps suspect as to its accuracy. I suspect the VIIIB and VIIID shouldn’t have the right hand “Contents” gauge.

I have a 1936 dated Type A and then a 1939 Type A although this has got a repro label. I’m trying to work out if the repro is correct in that the gauge is a Type A ?
First 3 pics are the 1936 gauge. This has a part number ref 4248 whilst the 1939 one is 107436

This may help, ignoring the picture of a Mk. TenA (XA):
