Wysiwyg?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 30-11-02 AT 04:44 PM (GMT)]Can you help me, i wonder? Following on from the post I did the other day, about swaping, changing aircraft etc. Do you think, if its not to much trouble, you could give me a list of the complete and up to date fleet listing of JMC?

Thanx in advance.

Andrew

The next time you visit LGW or LHR pick up a copy of Aviation Letter, it gives a month by month account of sales, leases, demises, re-registering, and news of anything significant happening with different airlines around the world, only £1.85

RE: Wysiwyg?

Dan330,

The 747-500 reference might mean the 747-400XQLR.

This is supposed to enter service in 2004 and is a quieter version of the 747-400ER with an additional 11,000lb payload and presumably, yet more range and less fuel consumption.

RE: Wysiwyg?

OK, not related to JMC or aanything, but I just checked the site EGNM recommended and under the fleet listing for Virgin Atlantic there are some interesting comments.

FURTHER 8 A340-800 OPTIONS WHICH ARE UNDER REVIEW, AND MAY BE REPLACED BY B767-300’s
WHAT!!
First of all, is that a misprint with the A340-800, must mean -600 right? And “under review, may be replaced by 767-300’s” – Never heard anything about this, with Virgin’s current “4 engines are better campaign” it looks a bit dodgy they are considering the 767-300! Also, they are thinking of the 767 over a brand new A340-600 (plus the fact thats is a new aircraft type in the fleet) – Are they mad?!
Also
HAVE SIGNED A LETTER OF INTENT FOR 6 B747-500
What is a 747-500? I heard about a possible stretch -500 and -600 version of the 747, but I thought this had been scrapped a long time ago? Didn’t know they were going through with it let alone gone as far as taking orders for them!

The URL for the info is http://www.jethros.i12.com/FLEETS/Listings/VIRGIN_ATLANTIC.html

Anyone know anymore?

RE: Wysiwyg?

I believe the A330’s are:

G-OJMB
and
G-OJMC …..

don’t quote me on those though!

RE: Wysiwyg?

G-FCLA,B,C,D,E & F were Flying Colours aircraft (as far as I know)
G-FCLG,H,I,J & K are ex-Transaero (the old Russian outfit)
G-JMCD & E are my joint favourites and were new from Boeing
G-JMCF is my least favourite and is an old Canadian register aeroplane
G-JMCG – don’t know where that one came from!
G-JMAA & B were new from Boeing

RE: Wysiwyg?

B757-200 – G-FCLA to G-FCLK and G-JMCD to G-JMCG
B757-300 – G-JMAA and G-JMAB
A330-200 – G-JMCB and G-JMCC (I think, I can’t quite remember!)
A-320-200 – Haven’t a clue!

I can get you the bus reg’s but I’m sure someone will jump in and save me the effort!

Condor are planning to psrk up 6 B757-300’s and there is a rumour we may borrow them instead. I’ll let you know if this goes ahead. G-JMCD has gone to the american register for the winter operating under lease to Ryan International from Chicago to the Carribean and Mexico. G-JMCE is about to depart to Mikwaukee to do the same routes but staying on the UK register. 2 more 757’s may go for a short while to cover for A320’s that are supposed to be there but are going to be in the paint shop instead.

RE: Wysiwyg?

I can give you the registrations but I haven’t a clue about airframe/constructors numbers. Is that ok?
