XH558 Appearances?

Perhaps they’ll take the hint and post a “potential” list of shows they would be at, given weather, serviceability, etc. I can’t find anything on the TVOC website.

What they have put up is a “diary”, but it seems that the nearest one to South West England is Fairford, which probably isn’t as bad as I thought – but Fairford tickets are sky-high! £32.50 for entry and £18.95 for a seat in the stands (in advance only – somewhat more expensive if bought on the day), which would be a must for me – so £51.45 in total. Going to the Park & View events mean I wouldn’t get to see XH558 – so while they’re much cheaper, they’re not what I want to go for.

One of the problems I have is with my health, and I missed at least two shows last year. because 24 hours before I had to go to hospital instead. 🙁

I overheard at the Duxford airshow that the Vulcan will only be at Waddington,Fairford and Farnborough this year.
don’t quote me though as it was overheard and might just be a rumor!

it makes you wonder where these rumours start – subject to funding & serviceability obviously, 558 is scheduled to appear at more than the those venues mentioned above

Well, as yet that can’t be guaranteed, and given how much I put into the project I will be extremely disappointed if I can’t, now, see her flying for myself. My personal circumstances have changed dramatically since then. 🙁

Just remember that, all going well, she should be back next year and for a few more years to come.

558 is listed on the Leuchars airshow website as flying assuming serviceability.

Great news for the likes of me who is young enough never to have seen a Vulcan fly.

Same ive never seen a vulcan fly so it should be good, tho id love a victor. There so much better

558 is listed on the Leuchars airshow website as flying assuming serviceability and test clearencies which now hopefully appear to be complete.

Great news for the likes of me who is young enough never to have seen a Vulcan fly.

She’s not down for Culdrose and I reckon the Yeovilton/Waddo clash will pretty much stop any chance of her going to Yeovilton(?).

I would hope that 558 goes to more shows than just Waddo, Riat and Farnborough this year as people from all corners of the country have given their hard-earned cash to see it fly!

Couldn’t agree more. Where XH558 appears will very much tailor where I go this year, and consequently how many shows I can go to.

I live in Plymouth, travelling to any of those listed would be extremely prohibitive cost wise, with RIAT being the only possibility other than Cosford, Kemble, Yeovilton and Culdrose. Even Biggin is really beyond my reach from here.

ooerr – I usually only go to the enthusiasts day (the day before the airshow) at Yeovilton, I doubt they’ll take her down there for that, so I might have to make changes to my itinerary.

Yeovilton’s official airday is usually so crowded it’s virtually impossible to find a good place without sitting in front of the fence from 8am. Not to be recommended if, like me, you suffer from Diabetes!

Cosford and Biggin Hill are out. There is a press release on the Biggin Hill show web site.

Target date for a show is now believed to be Waddington so I suppose Yeovilton is a possibility
