Kinda new here but I have been lurking in the background!!!
I really want to know what is going on with XH558 at Bruntingthorpe. I understand from a press release I was given at Waddington that TVOC now have the funding to start the restoration, but reading on here there seems to be a difference of opinion. The TVOC website seems to be of little information, and no mention of when the Delta will be flying again.
Anyone with any info?

I can’t say much, but I believe there maybe a new webmaster on the TVOC site soon. Hopefully more information will be available when that decision has been made.

Well, from what I saw at the last Cold War Jet bash at Bruntingthorpe, 558 looked like the world’s biggest jigsaw puzzle, but everything seemed as though it was moving forward. I spent a long time just trying to work out what some of the bits were!
Until I’d seen her in this state, I had no idea what a massive undertaking the operation is. No matter what polarized opinions exist about TVOC, they’ve got a lot of work to do, and it’s a brave decision to attempt it. Maybe info will be more forthcoming as the project moves forward.

Hi Scott and welcome to the Forum.
OOOOhhhh dear……….. have you started one here
Personally,
1) yes I think there is a very good chance she will take to the air again.
2) as to quite when ? well past experience indicates that TVOC is probably the very and final last place ever, ever, ever, to seek up to date information. They are far too important ( Corporate ) to actually talk to the people at the bottom of the pile ( those who will actually pay on the gate to see her fly again )
3) my advice is to now run away and hide as the pro’s and con’s debate may well re-ignite :diablo:
Good luck !

So whats next? I have given a large amount of money to put 558 back in the air, I think its not a very good show that they dont keep us informed.
If the aircraft doesnt fly, do you think people have a case to get their money back? After all I was donated to get the aeroplane in the air.
