TVOC
Hi all,
Im not sure what ‘static ground demos’ means, think it might just be APU running etc, engine runs on that pan seem abit close to the crowd, maybe one the TVOC guys can confirm their plans ?
Sorry for not saying anything before but I was awaiting conformation from MA. I will be running the dog and flying controls and might even get an engine run in at the end.
😀

Dont know the full runing order yet, but we have plans for a great Lightning run, a never seen before ‘event’ ;);)
Cheers 😉

Hi all,
Yep I can confirm we will run 904 come wind, rain or snow 😉
Shes an all weather fighter after all, mind you the bad weather puts us off being an ‘all weather see off crew’
If the forcast weather arrives its goona be a rerun of last May, my gear has only just dried out from that all day deluge last May
And remember the QRA shed will be wide open (there are no doors yet ) you can all come and shelter under our new roof 😉

See you all there, dont let the weather put you off
Here’s a wet weather shot of 904 back in 1994, just to get to give you the flavour

It all kicks off around 11am with the first run 😉

We will do our best.
If the weather is as bad as predicted, we will do what we always do under those circumstances, put on the best show we still can! Indeed, a Lightning or Victor run in the rain can be even more spectacular than a dry one. We also have one of the worlds biggest rain shelters, the Super Guppy, and welll worth looking around to.
Don’t let a bit of rain spoil your fun, were British, and take these things in our stride!!!!
Hope we still see you all there on Sunday.

i think the noise is caused by resonance of the air through the intakes as the engines spool up and start sucking more air in (not sure) so i would have thought that you would have to accelerate the engines through a certain range to get that beautiful jurassic park howl rather than having her engines running at a specific power setting. really dont know though lol
with regards to holding her back…. why would you want to 😉

The vulcan makes a pretty good umbrella !:diablo:
So what are the chances of hearing the ‘Olympus scream’ if she’s only operating statically….would chocks hold her against the power setting required on all four motors to produce that unmistakable sound ?

What happens if the weather is as poor as forecast, will the event still go ahead?
Cheers, Dean
