XM607 scheme

i was puzzled by a model yesterday of Vulcan XM607 in what appeared to be emerald Green and dark grey uppers, with light grey under surfaces. the real a/c is half an hour away from me. The model was in a beautiful collection of Falklands schemed a/c all the others were pristine, I wonder did she ever wear a scheme like this? how many times has she been repainted since retirement?

re;

so the underside was the wrong shade for Falklands, and the uppers closer to what you would find on an admirals barge – oh dear 🙁

XM607 in the light aircraft grey undersides 1977

and May 1981,

As Circus says, the Dark Sea Grey undersides were applied for the Falkands missions.
XM607 also wore the unusual underisde wraparound desert scheme of tan / dark brown for Red Flag ’77. It is surprising how many different colour schemes (some very subtle) were appplied to the Vulcan.

Extra Dark Sea Grey was applied for Operation Black Buck. It’s been painted 3 times in the last 21 years, I think.
