XR770 at Waddington up for sale on Gumtree

Looks like they only borrowed her! From Facebook:

s the owner of XR770 I can fill you all in lol! We took her on 13 years ago as part of a collection, we did not do anything with her as the council would not and could not afford to chip in. We then moved in 2008 and asked the council what we should do with her and they said they had neither the time or the inclination to do anything with her. They said we could have her and basically good luck to us! We took her and 5 Sqn then called us asking if we would loan them one of our Lightnings! Initially we said no but after a lot of persuasion we said ok! We were promised help to prepare, rub down and get her painted but sadly this didn’t happen we had the help of one pilot when he had time and so me, my Husband and our two kids went to Waddington nearly every night and every weekend for three months and together with the amazing Steven Hand and his fellow painter we got her ready for painting. Steve Hand made a fabulous job of her and there she STILL sits at Waddington. We have had some amazing times with her but unfortunately we have to sell her to enable us to re furbish the other love of our life our twin seater. We have also been very disappointed with the way she has been neglected by the Squadron. We have now got a few folk interested in her and we will only let her go to a good genuine home. So there you have it from the horses mouth x
