XS904 and XR728 updates

Hi all, just a line to keep you all up to date on the going’s on with our two lightnings and the QRA hanger;
We gave 728 an antidet run last Saturday 3/9/05, both engines were run separately to 85% power with no snags at all, the No2 starter snag we had on the July open day now fixed which we found to be a HT box problem.
As 904 was given a good shake down on the 28th Aug we wont be running her again untill around late Sept.

The QRA hanger is coming on well, with all the main steel structure completed, we have just put an order in for £1000 worth of new steel work to finish off the smaller sections that are missing.
This week we have plant on site opening the entrance drive way up, once this is done we will then start chasing up the 30 or so lorry loads of hardcore material we need to bring the base up to the correct height best pprice so far is £150 a lorry load, then its the expensive bit ! The concrete floor.

Will keep posting updates as and when

Hi,

thanks for the update on the team. Any pictures of the progress on the QRA shed? I dont think i have seen a picture of one.

Hi have a look at these shots I have posted on our web site recently;
You will find us at http://www.lightnings.org.uk/ if you need to keep up to date with our comings and goings

1. These were taken back in Dec 1994 just before it was dismantled at Wattisham we then transported it to Bruntingthorpe

2.These shots have been taken over the last 12 months since we started to clear the site

3.And these shots were taken back in July 2005

We have come along way in 12 months with very little funding, its mainly been hard graft but very rewarding, as Im typing we have a bulldozer on site opening the entrance drive way.
