Got some well good news for Bucc fans like myself
Buccaneer ground runs carried out successfully on Sat 10th
This was posted on the Avi8 forum by a memeber of HHA staff as was this a few months back
The Bucc and the Sukhoi are ongoing projects and will fly in the future
This is very welcome news:)

Hi Ant,
Not quite all three, one of them is now on display in a rather nice garden outside the entrance to an office complex in Farnborough. I think it was originaly one of farnboroughs aircraft that came over to Boscombe when Farnborough closed.

Hi Smiler,
All three of the Boscombe Buccs went to Cape Town,so whichever you worked on,she now happilly tears through the atmosphere over South Africa. 🙂

I worked on one of the last flying Buccs at Boscombe!:D
I can’t remember the tail number now but I’ve a picture of the Buccs we had so I’ll see if I can dig it out. Though I think it may well be the Bucc that’s now flying in south Africa.
Smiler.

How will XX885 be capable of getting a permit to fly when the CAA were not willing to get XW986 one?
Any news on FAST getting XX894 to static run yet? Must be quite a few runners and potential runners out there..at YAM, Gatwick, Bruntingthorpe etc?
Is XX897 capable of static runs?

Great it would be wonderful for a bucc to be flying in the UK again. Just hope it would get the support at airshows ut deserves!

Yes XX885 has a real chance of flying
Bucc at 2004 airshows it could happen
Hope its in a gulf war paint job if it does fly
Be nice to do a thunder city and let people pay for a ride

Morley, the Bucc is at Scampton sharing hangar space the Sukhoi and various other static and potentially airworthy aircraft.OFMC and HHA are hoping that the type might be cleared to fly at some point in the not too distant future.

Er not wanting to sound stupid but where is thsi bucc. can’t be in the Uk as they can’t get a permit to fly! Can they?
By: Arthur - 12th May 2003 at 23:49
Yes, just found it, ex 98+14, former 918 with the NVA.
Didn’t know they want to fly this one. Absolutely brilliant though, an AL21 powered Fitter (so not those third-world export versions) taking off at dusk is certainly one of the most impressive sights i have ever seen.
