[updated:LAST EDITED ON 30-10-02 AT 03:09 PM (GMT)]The Yankee Air Force F6F poking its nose out of the hangar at Chino. It is fairly rare to catch these birds outside, or almost outside in this case. I shot this photo during one of the annual Planes of Fame airshows and both the PoF and Tom Friedkin had Hellcats on the field as well. That nose job was made famous by VF-27 if my sources are right. Aces in that unit included Lt. James ‘Red’ Shirley and Lt. Richard Stambook. Good photo.
