Can any one help with identifying these Yak 11’s. No1.

Was G-KYAK’s incident caused by engine failure? I understood it to be a failing in part of the fuel injection system which is kept alive by oil pressure. For some reason these don’t like being operated upside down for long and will cause the engine to quit. A similar thing happened to G-OYAK some years ago whilst in the pattern at Earls Colne, happily the owner at the time got it on the ground without further incident.

The second one used to belong to TFC, but does any one know who owns it now?

He backed off a bit, but still close enough for a 55mm lens.

Edigio Gavazzi sold his Yak last year, and has bought a 2nd ’52 instead, as well as keeping the share in the L39 at North Weald.
I think his enthusiasm for the Yak11 was increased after a spot of formation flying with Mark Jefferies on a transit from Popham back to White Waltham. When Mark says he will tuck in close, he really means it !
