A couple of more exotic airliners caught late afternoon at Southend this week.
First a rather nice Yakutia 757 being towed back to the hangar after engine runs in the last of the afternoon light:

And an Air Astana A321 – unusual to see the larger Airbus variant of Air Astana at Southend taxiing out prior to departure to Aktubinsk just before sunset.

Hope these are of interest.

Typical Russian reliability then! The Yakutia 757 turned up for maintenance a year later than it was originally planned!

Yep it does Hannover as well. Supposed to do Palma one day a week but it always gets cancelled as it did when I was there in September.

Thanks MSR777, Bristol_Rob and Culpano for your comments.
The Yakutia is a nice scheme indeed – think its meant to show the Northern Lights on its tail – and nice to see an airline which only has foreign alphabet titles on it.
Culpano – I had noticed that Manchester saw a Yakutia 737 diversion – although I don’t think its any rarer! Its seen on scheduled flights to Dresden all year round – unlike the seasonal charter flights to Palma operated by the 757! 🙂 The Air Astana A320 which visited Manchester did of course come from Southend!

Wow – more Southend exotica ! Excellent. I saw the very same Yakutia in Palma but it was cloudy that morning ! Air Astana A321 ? Crikey – I didn’t even know they had them. I knew they had A320s as we got one in Manchester. We also got the rarer Yakutia 737-700 last week 😀
Great shots btw.

Great pics. I really like the Yakutia colours.
