They invited all sorts of aircraft, lots of warbirds as well as the newer stuff. They put up two flights to buzz a bunch of schools all over SoCal, but apparently the flight plan went to hell & they managed to miss damn near every school they were supposed to fly over. I was near one of the schools & the F15/16/22/35 flight missed by about a mile & approached from the South instead of the North as briefed. I guess someone gave the Lt the map..

Totally unrelated, but I recently spent the weekend in Suffolk – staying in a B+B between Leiston and Aldburgh. And upon realising that I was interested in aviation the owner informed me that I had been staying in the same room as used by Yeager on his last visit to the UK whilst visiting his former airfield at Leiston 🙂
