After a seven year break, I finally managed to make a return visit to the excellent Fleet Air Arm museum today.

Hi Kye,
The RNHF are based at Yeovilton, and use serving RN pilots. It’s the other side of the airfield to the FAA Museum though!

I read about it the other week and was impressed with the idea. Can’t believe i asked the question when i knew then answer 🙁 lol. Glad i stand corrected now as i thought the RNHF was stationed at Yeovilton and used pliots from there

Hi Kye,
Good question. You are asking about one of the world’s most important W.W.II aircraft. The Corsair belongs to the FAA Museum; nothing to do with the RN Historic Flight. So it’s static only. It’s not being restored, but ‘conserved’. See: http://www.fleetairarm.com/ and navigate to ‘Corsair project’.
Cheers

Whats the deal with that Corsair? Is it being restored to static condition only? I can imagine so as things are a little tight with the RNHF at the moment

Lovely stuff.
I’ll see if I can find my pic of the Corsair and the Glad frame…
Cheers!

Nice one Gary. The lighting really is tricky there isn’t it.
Totally agree Rob, there are areas that are well lit, but they are few and far between. No where near as bad as the Bomber Command Hall at Hendon though. I had a tripod with me today which made the job a little easier.

A further selection.
The Corsair is in the restoration workshop, hence the poor photograph through the glass, The frame in the foreground is for the new build/ Sea Gladiator.
