Yeovilton – where to stay?

Does anyone have any bright ideas about where we might be able to get overnight accommodation somewhere reasonably near Yeovilton for the air show please?

The Somerset tourist people are less than helpful to be honest.

Thanks in anticipation.

[QUOTE=Mike J]Leaflets, who needs leaflets

Gee…whizz thanks Mike (!)

The word ‘leaflet’ was mentioned because last time I was at FAAM, the guys in charge of the Cobham Hall has a promo stand running.

They didn’t have a hooked up pc direct to their site, they had….er…. leaflets !!

Very true, I’d forgotten that the museum storage hall is open the evening before.

Any details on this please ?

I’ve mislaid my leaflet with the dates on it, but i recall that the last open day was in September.

Is that Friday ~the~ day, or a special treat for airsho fans ?

Cheers….

You could try the Travelodge

http://www.travelodge.co.uk/

The Yeovil one is showing as full, but the Taunton one (18 miles away) shows vacancies for 17-19 September

I’ve just booked the Brighton one for Shoreham this weekend

Edited to add :

Are you really sure you want to go to Yeovilton, it’s all helicopters, you know! 😀

Dont listen to him – Yeovilton is brill 🙂

Thanks Mike, I’ll give them a try.

Helicopters – pah! The museum and RNHF are the important bits.
