This is probably a b****y stupid question (yes, you will say) but, as the whole nation is in the grip of Titanic fever, I was wondering if there is a known instance of an aircraft colliding with a floating iceberg?
Smacking into glaciers and frozen lakes, no problem (e.g. Glacier Girl, Kee Bird and that Hermes in a Greenland glacier) but has the conjunction of a low level flight and a tall block of ice ever led to the inevitable?
Granted that, if it has occured, the chance of survival was very slim, but you never know.

“pykrete”
during good old WW2 there were plans to turn icebergs into disposable Aircraft carrier type airfields. lots of tests were done on all types of ice and even ways of making the ice last longer
Ice mixed with sawdust, project “Habbakuk”.

I’m sure PO Prune would’ve given it go if he was let loose over the North Atlantic 😉
