Yes, conditions were unusually good for renewables, but it does make you realise what is possible.

As technology improves, especially low-energy appliances and lighting, and the cost of renewables comes down could the United Kingdom actually move towards regularly generating more energy from renewables that we consume? All we really need now is a way of efficiently storing large quantities of electricity.
