dark light

Yet another relic to identify.

Ok, I found this behind what was once a dispersal on Sawbridgeworth airfield.
At the moment I cannot find my tape measure for correct dimensions. I estimate it to have an overall diameter of six and a half inches, internal diameter of four and a half inches and one and a half inches depth. The only stamp legible is a circle, within the circle the lettering EDA and a number 5 under the D.
My guess at first was the fueling point on a wing, any ideas people?.

We have a collection of lighting from the airfield, this is alloy and not cast iron as the lights are. 🙂

looks a bit big for a refuel point, could be something as mundane as a taxi way light housing.
