This is the last bit from the dig at Silloth that I dont know what it is from.
It is a stainless plate six and a quarter inches diameter ( no metric equiv).
On the reverse are three clips made from copper/brass (?) and a central triangular plate for – I assume – a pivot bar.
I am guessing it is US and engine/firewall related – but there are NO markings at all..

Very similar to an aluminium alloy access panel from a fabric-covered aircraft. Probably engine-bay related, as you say.
