With lots of pictures already posted from the Naval air display at Old Warden, I have attempted to pick some more unusual images for my contribution.
Hope you like a few up close shots!

Well then it must be the close distance to the aircraft at Old Warden (and maybe the enormous amount of pixels) that made these brilliant pics technically possible. I just got an EF 100-400 L IS for my 20D. Hope to post some pics made with this combination soon.
Arjan,
Very little cropping used on these, it’s the Old Warden flight line that gives such great oppertunities. I also use a 100-400 and it gives just as good magnifications and images, even off my 1D MkII.
Good luck with yours, looking forward to seeing some pictures:)

Great stuff Darren.
The first Hurricane shot and the Blackburn are my faves.

Not as bad as you might think, as I use the Canon 400mm f/4 DO lens (with a 1.4x converter for these shots), which isn’t as big as the older technology lenses….saves my arms from aching as well!:)
The focal length is 560mm in total (on a 1Ds MkII).

Darren,
How many yards is the focal length of your lens?
