Mine has to be sitting in the garden over the season and having a large array of historics passing over mostly weekends.
Spits, Hurricanes, Blenheim, Buchons, Lancaster, DC3, Mustangs, B17, the Reds, Typhoons, and a plethora of other types.
Must of seen the Biggin Hill HH 2 seater at least once a fortnight up to DX Friday and back Sunday around 6.30, also Miss Helen a couple of times.
Looking forward to 2017

Seeing the Sea Vixen going round the bend at OW, and finally getting to see the Fury, at Legends. Think those two top it for me. Very jealous of everyone’s flights!

I was asked if I wanted to go for a ride in this 1929 Gipsy. Hell yeah!

On December 3rd Curtiss Jenny 5361 had its first flight in 98 years, in South Carolina…
Photo from a flight on December 7
Seen here on initial assembly at the Wright Experience in Virginia where it was restored, with a 1951 Hudson Pacemaker parked alongside. The colour scheme is based on the Jenny in the NASM collection at the Udvar Hazy Center.
And the restoration crew. Note the 46th Aero Squadron Bitch Kitty emblem

My trip to the US a few weeks ago. Went for a close friends wedding, but the timing allowed me to go to the Reno air races, and I had time to visit PIMA. Sat in a Spitfire XIV and a Hellcat at Reno, and the sounds those unlimited class racers make is just something else. The highlight of PIMA was undoubtedly the B36, though the ‘Boneyard’ is incredible, and constant overflights by pairs of A10s just made the experience. It was also nice to see PIMAs immaculate Shackleton gleaming in the desert sun.

I’ve seen various aircraft out and about this year but the only Historic Vintage aviation moment of the year was the Spitfire I saw flying over Bognor for several minutes in August.

And watching a friend’s very nice Sopwith Pup replica take to the skies to mark the centenary of the type.
