Out of Boeing/Airbus range what’s your favorite narrow and wide-bodies ?
A321 or 757, mine is 757 due to power and they are more attractive.
A320 or 737-800, mine is 737-800 due to comfort and style.
A330 or 767-300, mine is A330 as they seem more spacious and modern.
A300 or 767-200, mine is 767-200 because they were good Britannia aircraft and powerful.
DC10 or L1011, mine is L1011 because of the design been more attractive and the RR engines.
747 or A380, 747 because it doesn’t look like a whale.

Long range certainly the 777, medium probably the 320 (has to do with most of the 737 populating my usual hunting grounds are very old and shabby), and short I think those Embraers are rather nice.
Of course my absolute fav is that large Gulfstream with that heartstoppingly/feeling-14-again good looking blonde stewardess … but the chances to fly with that thing are rare.

I found the A330 a rather noisy and uncomfortable aircraft. Not one of my favourites to fly on.

Why does it have to be Boeing and Airbus? I have flown on fine aircraft from other manufacturers apart from the “big two”.
I have enjoyed flying on the Fokker 27 and the Fokker 50, the ERJ135 and 145, the ARJ100 and ARJ85 and the BAe 146. They all had good points – with the Fokkers having excellent viewing, the ERJs having reasonable legroom for the size of the aircraft (and nice to have a one or two seat option rather than being in a three seater where someone could end up in the same row and insist on talking to you throughout the flight, which I hate!)
I love the 747 for its size and the engine roar on take off.
The TriStar was a supremely attractive aircraft, more so than the DC10 which I found rather ugly. The TriStar had a better shaped nose and the engine in the tail looked better than the engine layout of the DC10.
The MD82 was a nice aircraft to fly on provided you weren’t on the back row where the window was obscured by the engine. Further forward the aircraft had excellent viewing.
I love to photograph the A330 from the front to emphasize its superb wingspan, but I have never been on one so I don’t know what they’re like to fly on.

agreed Totty, guess thats why i think the A380 looks stubby, if they gave that about 20m more length it would look better

A321 or 757: 757 hands down. Looks best with Rollers under the wings.
A320 or 737-800: Tough one, but the 737 pips it due to its retro look. I love that classic 707 nose.
A330 or 767-300: With Rollers, the A330 is a very graceful and well proportioned machine.
A300 or 767-200: As above.
DC10 or L1011: I also prefer the L1011, purely on looks.
747 or A380: 747, again, it’s the classic design that has appeal to me. You just can’t beat that iconic nose and hump.

I’d like to put in a word of support for the A340-600 as well. It is an extremely attractive aircraft – which I think is to do with the length.

Following Interflug’s drift back in time from the thread I must put in a word for the Comet 4.
I too was a massive Trident fan and coming up to the present I have enjoyed 737 and 747 and 757. And aesthetically I prefer them to the Airbus design.

Must agree with Lucas love the A340-600 hope to get on a Virgin one next year, guess its because really they are just overgrown DC8-60 series:rolleyes:
went on a BWIA a340 in 2005 and Lufthansa one in 2004.

I say exactly the same thing about my Renault Clio.

Don’t think the DC10 or L1011 were either Boeing or Airbus but anyways…:D
757 rules OK!
Between the Trijets, the TriStar for me, just had the look! I was also a Trident fan, although they were perhaps more rugged than beautiful!!
However give me a Sud Aviation Caravelle anytime! 😉

Will go with the above one:)

DC8’s 60 series are the most comfortable, lots of leg room
By: Arabella-Cox - 12th June 2011 at 16:55
A380, no question. The B747-8 is nice, but it looks a little old-fashioned to my eyes.

Thomsons 737 800s are most comfortable planes I’ve been on.

Without a doubt, in my opinion, long-haul Airbus: A340-600. It’s elegant, modern, powerful and comfortable.
As for Boeing long-haul, it would have to be the 777 family. I think both the -200 and -300 series are just great.
When it comes to Airbus short-haul, I have a soft spot for the A319. It’s small, but powerful!
As for Boeing short-haul, the 737 family without a doubt! Especially the -800 and -900 series!

Hey,
1. Definitely the 757 in terms of the power, the noise and the comfort. The Seattle boys did themselves proud with that plane. Sad that Boeing stopped production really because theres now a massive gap in the market which the 757 used to occupy :/. Long live the 757 and the RB211’s 😉
2. Not so sure on this one, both about the same in my point of view. The 737 is a very iconic design and one that I like but I think soon the A320 design will be iconic too, so i’m unsure on which to go for :/
3. I’ve not been on a A330 before so not sure what they are like from inside but think they are very nice planes and they look good with the Trent 700’s but I will probably go for the 767-300 again. One of my favourites with the RB211’s under the wings.
4. Not been on either but I think I’ll choose the 767-200 primarily because it was the first 767 and the start of the ETOPS generation (:
5. Not been on either again but I think the DC10 is a nicer looking aircraft however the L1101 has the better engines 😛
6. The 747 will always be the Queen of the Skies for me. The plane is magnificent and in the British Airways liver it looks even better. I love going on this plane and always get excited when I go on one. In my top three favourite planes.
