Your favourite aviation picture of 2015

How about posting just one picture from all those you have taken in 2015 ?
It doesn’t have to be technically brilliant, but one which sums up the spirit of aviation, be it modern or historic.
On the ground or in the air.

It doesn’t have to be the Vulcan 🙂

May 8… Kirtland AFB, NM. Never imagined I would see an Airbus A400M here in the states. I was glad I was in the right place at the right time on this day!

Duxford Sept 19th…. yes, a bit of a cliché, but what a finale!

The Goodwood commemoration a few days earlier involved more aircraft, and reflected the fact that the Hurricane (and Blenheim) were participants in the BofB, but there were never as many aircraft together in view at one moment in time as there were at the Duxford show… that Dux finale still brings me out in goosebumps – Spitfires everywhere you looked.

Rightly so, the Spitfire and Vulcan seemed to share the 2015 season
My offering is of the sunrise prior to the best Spitfire show seen for years at Duxford….

For me my favourite was this shot

https://farm1.staticflickr.com/294/20027691082_f9fe8812ee_b.jpgVulcan with the Red Arrows RIAT 2015 by Martin Stitchener, on Flickr

I had a poster of something similar taken at West Malling in the early 1990’s and had always hoped to see such a formation myself, finally in 2015 I got my chance.
I am currently sick from work after breaking one foot and spraining both ankles, this has given me time to look through photos I took at airshows this year, I realise we saw some truly amazing things this year and although my mind still looks back to the awful events of Shoreham, I have still been able to smile at the good things this season brought too.

From the former RAF Church Fenton, now Leeds East. Shooting up towards the Sun, I’m pleased I was shooting RAW so I could pull the image back from being a silhouette!

The most poignant photo for me this year was the Vulcan with the two Gnats.

Not my photo so can’t post it!

I was not able to get out much at all this year, but I was quite pleased with this close-up of Shuttleworth’s new Camel at Old Warden.

Ok, I’ll kick it off. Sally-B from the Clacton airshow. A lovely tribute to those who never returned.
