Free entirely from the usual histrionics, embarrassingly over the top exaggerated acting, Excessive background noise, car/boat/ and helicopter chases is a wonderfully restrained weekly TV cop series called Jessie Stone.
This series features someone called Tom Selleck who is a fine actor. Mr. Selleck plays the part of a small town Chief of Police in a place called Paradis which looks, although no one has mentioned it, as though it is located somewhere on the East Coast of America, near the Canadian border.
The dialogue and action is underplayed and understated and is all the more effective because of this restraint.
Mr. Selleck in the series has a drink problem and is attempting to deal with this with the assistance of another fine actor called William Devine. Mr. Devine plays the part of a retired policeman and now current psychiatrist.
The program is on Ch. 5 on a Saturday usually around 5 or 6.0pm, it is by far the best of its type I’ve ever seen.

I don’t bother with TV as it is mostly rubbish. I have a DVD collection of favourite programmes which I watch every night. My absolute favourite is ‘Secret Army’ but at the moment I’m watching the ‘Walking With…’ Programmes. I started with ‘Monsters’ and finished watching ‘Dinosaurs’ last night and tonight I’m watching ‘Beasts’.

As a series, it has to be Game of Thrones, although I’ve recently started watching ‘Luther’ for the first time and I’m really enjoying it.

with 3 kids under 8 i catch a lot of cartoons, but i would happily watch phineas and ferb all day on my own, gloriously off the wall and lots of gags for all ages, after that then anything to do with engineering!

Being retired my wife and I watch Judge Judy, it confirms my thoughts about Americans.
For a British programme I like Drew Prichard and Salvage Hunters.

When home in the UK I watch things like comedy shows such as Miranda or Mrs Brown’s Boys.
My parents like to use it as a way of us all having a family-time moment, especially given that I work away for up to one year at a time.

The little I watch does frequently seem to be on BBC4 as well. Which is of course what BBC2 was and should still be!!

I watch very little TV but i have a soft spot for the Big Bang Theory and any good historical documentary.BBC4 does seem good for that.
