My happiest was when i went to the flight deck of a Dash 8 BA flying to Gatwick from Newcastle, this was also my first flight ever.

It would have to be my first solo in November last year at Sydney Bankstown. It was in a C152 reg VH-HCE. On the crosswind leg, I had a perfect photo oppurtunity of one of the new QANTAS 747-400ERs coming in for approach. Now that’s a picture I’ll never forget.

Cheers,
Paul

I’m tempted to say Barcelona the other week, but that wasn’t so much aviation related as just me floating on air…

erm, first and only cockpit visit, BA5403 (Zurich-Birmingham), 24/12/1990, BAC1-11-501EX, G-AXJK.

Either that, or my first Transatlantic flight… BA2199 (Gatwick-Pittsburgh, PA), 09/07/1997, Boeing 767-336ER, Club World. Didn’t get the reg 🙁

We had Concorde here at LBA too:) A couple of times. They were great occasions. Also my 1st flight on a Tristar was great back in 99 and going up to the cockpit of a Monarch A320 in 95 was also great.

One was back in the sixties when i got to ride in the jumpseat of an Ansett Lockheed Electra between Melbourne and Adelaide
The other was in 97 when flying between Sydney and LAX onboard a Qantas 744, it was arranged by the purser that i pay a visit to the flight deck, where i once again got to ride in the jump seat for a short time

Geez, I’ve had so many throughout the years. Perhaps the first time I remember flying on a 747, it was TWA in 1983 when I was 9, from LAX-JFK. The reason I say ‘remember’ because when I was 2, we also flew on TWA from LAX-ATH via JFK. Those 4 segments could have been a combination of 747’s, L1011’s, and even a 707, perhaps. In 1976, there were still quite a few of those flying around. I am still, to this day, trying to find out for sure the aircraft types on those segments. I even have the dates, if anyone is able to help me out.

The day I was accepted to become an airline pilotwhich incidentally was also one of the worst days of my aviation life, October 24th 2003, the day concorde was retired. That day one life long dream flew out of the window, but my greatest one came true!

I turned a SLR 737-400 on the way from TFS to BRU. Lucky me, the captain was really nice!
