Just saw an impression of the new Aeroflot livery, looks like it’ll be great if it happens.

Don’t times change???

Big Red, you’re killin’ me! You obviously weren’t paying attention when I asked the tarmac tour operator about those Australian 763’s. He said they only make appearances in SYD during maintenance.

The Australian colour scheme is a nice one and modelled on a great aircraft, too.

This is the low cost arm of Qantas.
The colour of orange ocher is supposed to represent the colour of Ayers rock.

I flew on a Scanair Srs63 in the mid 80s to ARN, a lovely a/c. It was interesting to observe the flexing of the fuselage as you looked down the aisle from the back row. I’ve heard that the same can be seen on the 757-300, is that so?

It’s the Starfish character from the cartoon, Spongebob. Notsure of his name. Glad you and your friend both loved that pic, MikeC. I flew on TWA’s Tristar once, for sure, back in 1983 from JFK to LAX on the way back from ATH. It was TW841. I also flew there in 1976, but as I was 2 years old, I do not recall the aircraft on the 4 segments. Hopefully, one of them was 707-320. Anyway, I fell in love with the Tristar as a child, and I’ve always been very fond of it. Unfortunately, UA didn’t keep them around long enough after they got them from Pan Am for me to fly one in UA colours.

Is it just me or does the starfish on the ‘Starfish by United’ tail look more like a cartoon condom?

Sorry about the long time replying (photo was TWA TriStar).

You don’t know just how much a great friend of mine loved this photo. He’s a retired TWA captain and used to be based at LAX driving 1011s. You made his day when I forwarded him the link.

Off thread, he loves telling me about the BA crew in the late 70’s who got a bad ATC instruction on approach to JFK and replied with ‘We can do that but we can’t bring the aircraft’, and thousands of other stories. He should write a book.

Spooky – I only live a few miles away. Use LBA for bmi ERJs to Paris to connect with the world’s finest…

Always liked this livery when it was around too…

Mine’s United’s current one. Like the old and new bmi colours, and reckon jet2 looks pretty good too.
