Your Photo Goals For 2007 and your Achievements from 2006

Never saw this thread!

Achievements for 2006:

-Upgraded from 350D to 400D
-Visited PMI, DUS and AMS specifically for photography (along with 20 or so smaller trips such as DUB, MAN, SNN etc.)
-A photographers choice on jp.net
-A top of the day on a.net
-Brought total on jp.net to over 940
-Brought total on a.net to nearly 200
-Had several photos published at significant profits, including Airliner World, and an A3 Poster of one of my shots in a big German magazine. Also sold various photos to private buyers, and have made a very good contact in the German aviation magazine sector.

Goals for 2007:

-Take lots of photos on my upcoming trips, namely Hahn in 2 weeks, Lanzarote in February, and Geneva/Zurich in April flying Swiss from LCY-GVA-ZRH-LCY on 146’s/A319. Spending two days in ZRH, that’s gonna be the big one!
-Get more photos published (maybe have one lined up for March so far)
-Visit MAN again, and I quite fancy a few others such as CPH, MUC, INN and AMS again would be great.
-Get many more shots on a.net and jp.net. Hopefully an SC on jp.net and a top of the day on a.net.
-Do my best to get more cockpit visits and wingviews on a few different aircraft types
-Buy a fisheye lense for something a bit different. Maybe the Sigma 10-20mm.

Lets keep my fingers crossed and see how they go!

Achievements 2006, my first year serious year of aviation photography and uploading pics.

Got my First just before xmas 05, got 2nd one Oct 06.
Maybe it to RIAT and F’boro
Got a few pics sold to magazines, books and Airlines.
Got 476 on JP this year
Got 132 on a.net
100 on www.aircraft-photos.net
bought to much camera stuff….ummm L Glass! 😉

non-av, set up own photo site, got published in some newspapers.

2007

Visit AMS before Kaagbaan shuts.
Get a SC on JP and A.net
Keep being creative.
get a 1D!! (yeah right)
got a 400mm prime (yeah right)

My achievements:

– Got 2 Screener’s Choices on JetPhotos (5 all together!)
– My higest viewed shot of this year is 24,000 on JetPhotos
– Been to a few other places like Riga, Heathrow etc…
– Got a few on A.net, not really important to me as I don’t particulary like the site as much as JP
– Had one of my pictures in a magazine

My aims:

– Travel abit more. Maybe AMS, ZRH, FRA and also visit China or St Maarten.
– Get the 400D
– Get into the Cockpit for a landing or takeoff 😎 (Not hijack) 😮
– And get 1 or 2 more SC’s 😀
– Get more shots in Magazines that pay! :diablo:

My achievements:
– Got a DSLR camera

My aims (quite unrealistic lol):
– Visit MAN southside
– Visit AMS
– Visit LHR
– Visit ZRH
– Photograph A380

Achievements:

a photo visit to Manchester

Goals:
100 photos, and a screeners choice (:diablo: ) on jp.net
get my new camera up and running. ggrrr, damn suppliers.

Achieved in 2006:
Learnt loads about Photography and how to take half-decent photos
Captured the AN-124 and AN-225
Finally got a few photos accepted on various Photo sites

My Targets for 2007:
Hopefully learn how to take great pictures with my new Canon 350D and my new lenses :p
Catch a Titan Airways B757-200 :dev2:
Travel around abit to get a nice variety of photos

Achieved in 2006:
* Bought a sigma 70-200 2.8 (which is in the repair shop at the moment :()
* Second most popular shot of the week at JP.net… before they started listing them on front page.
* First trip outside Europe (New York with layover in Detroit)
* Made a photo of the An-225 parked at EIN.
* Spotted a few IL-76s, but no good photos.

And achievement that are not photography related:
* Finally at long last got myself a flat of my own! Am now in the process of moving which will take another week or 3.
* Got myself a permanent contract at work.
* A new(er) car.

All in all a very good year.

Hopefully 2007 will bring:
* Good photos of IL-76s.
* Pic of the week at JP.net.
* Photo of An-225 in the air (preferably final approach).
* Another vacation to the US. Probably a week in Washington with a day or two in Atlanta for spotting since there isn’t much else there.
* Small weekendtrips to ZRH, MAN and MAD.
* Hopefully the canon 100-400L, but that is unlikely due to me moving which costs a fair bit.
* Getting my money back from collegues and house mates… should go a long way into funding at least the ZRH and MAN trip. Ain’t gonna happen though. 😡

Go to Heathrow now I’ve finally got a camera (hooray!) 🙂
