Yuma Prooving Ground

Your knowlegable Aeronut is currently suffering the 110 degrees F heat and thunderstorms! of deepest Arizona and being paid for it. 😀
I thought you might like to see the two helicopters on poles that I have to pass each day at the Yuma Prooving ground.
Sorry to hear of the RIAT fiasco but if I wasn’t here I would have been there under canvas for 5 days. :p

Never mind your top down, Yuma is where the nudist/naturists camps are aren’t they!:)

Not that I saw!
The only place I stopped was at the Marine Corps Air Station for some fuel & a soft drink.
Really.

Yes, the heat in Yuma is a bit oppressive in the summer.
I once drove through Yuma going from Phoenix to San Diego in an MX-5…with the top down.

By the end of the day I felt like Jimmy Stewart in Flight of the Phoenix

Back on topic… doesn’t the Huey look nice in the high-vis desert paint scheme?
