Two people were killed when a light aircraft crashed at an airfield, police have said.

Bournemouth Airport, which is one of the fastest growing airports in the UK, has remained open while the crash is dealt with.’
Is Bournemouth one of the fastest growing airports in the UK?. 🙁

So If I read that right it was pilot error? 🙁

It might have been pilot error, or passenger foot error, or loose screwdriver error or errant seat belt error, so on balance, not conclusive.:o

Tragic indeed, brings a chill down my spine every time I see this sort of thing, makes me wonder why I am doing it, my biggest fear is not me dying, but leaving my 2 young daughters without a dad and the fact that they would never really know who I was 🙁
May God hold you both in his hands, RIP

The phrase is..
“There are lies, damned lies and statistics”.
As you point out starting from a low base is a good way to generate a large percentage increase

Percentage increases can be very deceptive. Doncaster/Sheffield started from 0 so in the first year the percentage increase will be huge. However an established airport could be very happy with a relatively low perecentage increase if it is sustainable.

Also from BBC news
Bournemouth is one of the fastest growing airports in the UK, according to figures released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The Dorset airport saw a 68% increase in passengers last year compared with 2004, the CAA revealed.
The airport said the growth could be attributed to budget airlines offering “low cost flights to popular European holiday spots” as well as city breaks.
The figures showed 229 million people passed through UK airports in 2005.
A spokeswoman said the figures make Bournemouth “one of the fastest growing airports in the UK”.
