I no there was a thread about this some weeks ago but i cant find it so i started a new one:
From AW October 2006:”A new UK-based subsidary of Canadian charter company Zoom Airlines will be the first European company to launch dedicated long-haul budget services when it begins flights next year. Zoom UK will begin operations in May 2007 following a major cash injection of around £5.7 million in it’s Ottawa-based parent from Bank of Scotland Growth Equity, giving the financial institution a 7,5% stake in the business. The start-up is expected to acquire two Boeing 767-300ER’s, the type currently used by its Canadian parent, on lease for flights from London to destinations in the U.S, and the East, most proberly flying to India. Both Zoom Airlines and Zoom UK will be controlled by Scots-born travel entrepreneurs John and Hugh Boyle, who owned Direct Holiday’s before it was sold to Airtours in the late 1990’s.”
There we go seems like they won’t be based in Scotland after all.

Is this just a way of Zoom getting round certain bilateral agreements ? Looks just like a regular expansion of the airline to me ???
