Does anyone know if ZOOM’s UK based airline that offers low-cost flights to New York JFK and Bermuda from Gatwick is having any problems at the moment; they constantly seem to be delayed coming into LGW and delayed (and in some cases cancelled!) from LGW?
I know they are using a Zoom 767 to operate the flights, so could this a/c be called upon to any of the Canadian flights if required; thus resulting in the JFK/BDA flights being affected?
If so, surely this is not good for customers or the airlines reputation as a whole?
How long can they maintain this before having to either get another a/c or dropping the non-Canadian routes?

Well Wadda you know its a Canadian Flyjet lol
That’s a bit harsh, I think things would have to be slightly worse than they are for it to be put alongside Flyjet…;)

Yeah looks like their ONLY aircraft has been going Tech a few times. With only 1 767, just like Zoom Canada, its hard to claw back lost time and they seem to be struggling!

Very clear explanation on Wiki. The increased reliability of aero engines has enabled twin engined planes to extend their distance from alternate airports thereby saving time and fuel and hopefully not compromising safety.

However i do know that the a/c was not ETOP’s approved, meaning the a/c has to take a longer routing to get to Bermuda, which can have a nasty knock-on effect. I believe they have or will shortly be receiving ETOPS approval so things should improve soon.
2 hours extra to what is usually a 7 hour flight:mad:

ZoomUK operate their own a/c, which is an ex Air Europa 767-300.
Despite them being owned by the same people, they are 2 different companies and are run seperately.
I dont know whether there have been many tech issues with ZoomUK, but as stated, having one a/c can affect operations.
