The rumour mill suggest new Zoom routes might
include EDI…we won’t know until they release details.
All additional flights will be available on the website as of August 1

As I say Joe, you get all types of travellers funnelling through all types of airports for whatever reason. Not every GLA traveller is a long hauler or holiday maker as much as not every EDI customer is a businessman.

Business clientele also take long-haul flights and they also take holidays. If their local airport is convenient for short-haul, its also convenient for long-haul.

BAA have categorised
CSA’s Vice President, Jiri Pos
I want to see CSA expanding the number of routes they have into Scotland. Glasgow is an obvious choice
Categorisation maybe not as clear cut ……
By: Silver Snapper - 9th June 2004 at 17:10
which of course explains the CSA and Domodevo flights…?
You got it in one! BAA have categorised..indisputable
evidence.?
Can we just agree to disagree?
I agreed with you above.

I can assure that there’s nothing more tedious than a GLA V EDI flame war on what is an international forum. 😡
This is the poster that started it Allen… The original thread-start was pefectly innocent..
Its 100% bull. Its just the usal Edinburgh spoters bitter about GLA’s new long haul based airline. They have said they will only expand from GLA in Scotland.

I’m not saying that either Sandy, GLA as you know has the infrastructure to better handle larger planes, EDI has the business clientele to support more direct scheduled short haul flights.
Business clientele also take long-haul flights and they also take holidays. If their local airport is convenient for short-haul, its also convenient for long-haul.
The problem is one of choice, a luxury many Scottish pax
are denied. 😡
I personally prefer using my local airport even if it means
connecting elsewhere. I am at least supporting local jobs and the local economy IMHO 🙂

Everyone……..come on now………group hug………? 🙂
Shave first? :p

Myself and Sandy saw the Air Holland 767, quite a sight I must admit, with a spectacular take-of tto, akin to say the B757. Granted it wouldn’t be full of fuel, but spectacular none-the-less. Wasn’t it standing in for the B757’s that were getting a C/D-Check?
It may well of been….
Air Scotland seem to have a lot of
cancellations at the moment, I hope trouble isn’t
brewing again 🙁

I’m just trying to put this bloody argument to the sword once and for all. Gawd it goes on and on and on. :p
Many have tried Allen… the internet is littered with
parochial combatants rather than peace-makers.
One well-known troublemaker even remarked, “Peace Off”
when it was on offer.
It’s these guys we should put to the sword… 😮

I’m just sick of hearing that GLA is the best and preferred airport. IT ISN’T
It’s BAA’s preferred airport, the one they socially-engineer
pax to with nigh exclusive long-haul schedule and
charter routes.
PIK is indeed an airport too far but at least they can compete.
EDI pax unfortunately are still expected to bank-roll
BAA’s long-haul airport at GLA.
Its not Glasgow’s fault by any means, its just that BAA
are fanning the prestige flames that cause all the
the arguements 😡

Only if your in it for the long haul then ? 😀 😀 😀
By: Bmused55 - 8th June 2004 at 23:09
Sure, but I must insist on a superior Edinburgh made pack :p
