Been to ZRH for two days with the airliners.net meet.
This meet included an excellent airside tour. A very quick runaround the terminals, with a hour stay at the runway intersection (meters away from the runway). Normally those tours go other way round, a longwinded runaround the terminals with a short stay at the intersection.
After that a long tour at SR technics. We where only allowed to shoot Swiss planes, which was a shame as there were only 3 planes in maintenance. Only a Swiss ARJ and a Virgin Atlantic A340-600 with a Onur 321 hidden in a hangar we did not enter. The ARJ was on jacks but other then that normal, the A346 was under heavy maintenance with all hatches open. Damn do I hate not being allowed to shoot there. Hopefully with the next ZRH meet there will be a Swiss A330/340 in the hangars.
There are a whole lot more shots at my website, and these shots are only from the 29th. The shots made the 30th will be added to the website tuesday and a seperate post will be made here.
Observation platform (landside, open to all for 2 francs)
The runway intersection.
Normally accesible for 10 minutes or so during the airside tour, but for this meet we could stay there one hour.
As you can see, there is a lot of clutter at the intersection. Signs, cameras, lampposts etc can make photography a bit of a hassle. But if you can get a shot without the signs the result is usually stunning. Heathaze is a real issue too.
